Just not paying attention
Okay, so it's not that the world around me has stopped saying interesting things. I just haven't been paying attention. Blame it on a fugue. Or something. But I'm semi-conscious again, and I'm going to start listening again. I hope.
We all do it -- no point in denying it. Well, I'm here to admit that I am an inveterate eavesdropper. The folks behind me in line, the people at the next table, that guy on his cell phone passing me on the street... Those snatches of conversation that float my way are often intriguing, delicious, irresistable.
I've long thought that there was a book in those snippets, somehow. But I've never figured out how to put it all together. Until I do, I can't just let them drift away unrecorded.
And so, here we are. Pattiken
